JUST IN: Panic as two-Storey building collapse in Lagos

A two-storey building has collapsed on Amusu Street in the Orile Iganmu neighborhood of Lagos State. The event occurred in the early hours of Monday.

Footage circulating online shows the structure collapsing, prompting nearby residents to flee for safety. An official from the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), who spoke anonymously to PUNCH Online, confirmed that there were no reported casualties.

The official noted that the building had been evacuated prior to the incident. “I can confirm that the collapse occurred this morning, but thankfully, there were no injuries. An evacuation had already been conducted before the building fell,” the source stated.

Additionally, the LASEMA representative mentioned that emergency responders were already present at the site to manage the situation.
