Music Journalist, Joey Akan Berates Wizkid For Insulting Davido

Joey Akan, a popular music journalist, expresses anger in the popular artist Wizkid for reportedly leveraging his feud with Davido to sell his latest album.

Netizens have watched Wizkid’s verbal barrage on his colleague Davido in recent weeks, so the beef between the two is no longer news.

However, throughout the recent drama, Davido has yet to address Wizkid’s vitriolic attack or answer to the singer directly.

Wizkid has also released his new album, Morayo, which has already shattered certain records on various streaming platforms.

“I find it difficult to believe that an artist of his ability feels compelled to engage in blatant division. Overlapping the pandemonium and heating up the music scene throughout release week to broaden his blast radius.”

It cheapens Wizkid. It diminishes his reputation as a cultural leader and completely demystifies him.

Last year, Nasboi, a creator, and music journalist Joey Akan cautioned Spyro for criticising the song lyrics of Shallipopi and other secular performers.

In a recent podcast, The Honest Bunch, presented by Nedu, Spyro attacked Shallipopi for the lyrics of his songs, particularly the most current tune, “Para Dey Body”.

While emphasising that Shallipopi’s lyrics cause listeners to internalise deception, Spyro stated that the value of releasing songs with impactful lyrics should not be overlooked.

Joey, using his X account, called out Spyro for his comment, pointing out that Spyro makes his money from secular musicians and operates in a secular industry while debasing his colleagues and promoting Jesus.
