Reno Omokri Attacks Davido On Claims That Nigeria Economy Is Booming

Reno Omokri, a political commentator, reacts to Davido’s recent statement in a podcast in which he claimed that the country’s economy is in disarray.

It should be noted that, during a recent podcast, Davido urged those living in America to return to Africa, namely Nigeria, following Donald Trump’s victory.

Davido mentioned that there isn’t much back home because the country’s economy isn’t doing very well. Reno Omokri took to Instagram to respond to this, saying that he disagrees with Davido.

According to him, the economy is not as Davido depicted it, and the act demonstrates little patriotism.

He pointed out that if the country’s economy was that terrible, Wizkid’s new album would not have received the millions of streams it did upon its release.

Reno Omokri asked Davido to mimic Rihanna, who never denigrated her country and instead utilises her stardom to promote her country, Barbados.

He asked, “Is Nigeria’s ‘Economy In Shambles’?” As singer Davido claimed? I respectfully disagree with artist Davido that Nigeria’s ‘economy is in tatters’.

“If our economy is in disarray, how is it possible that Wizkid’s album, Morayo, received 12.12 million listens on its first day of release on Spotify Nigeria, making it the best-selling album on a streaming platform in Nigeria’s history?

“Please fact-check me: Streaming music is purchased with disposable income.” “People do not have spare income in a down economy, let alone breaking streaming records, particularly on Spotify, where the average monthly streaming cost is $10.99.”
