Nick Knowles Makes Successful Comeback on Strictly Following Injury
DIY SOS star Nick Knowles returned to the Strictly Come Dancing dancefloor this week, having missed last week’s movie-themed special due to injury.
Knowles, 62, and Strictly professional Luba Mushtuk did their planned movie week performance, a Charleston to Rain On The Roof from the Paddington 2 soundtrack.
The TV actor claimed that he damaged his knee during preparations on the Friday before last week’s Saturday night program, stating “it was a huge disappointment”.
The two earned a total of 21 points for their Charleston, and judge Motsi Mabuse welcomed them back, adding, “I think it takes a lot of courage you came back.”
Before beginning the dance routine, Knowles said he was excited to perform it for his 10-year-old son Eddie, who he claimed was an enormous fan of the Paddington film.
After the dance, Mabuse expressed her “100% sure” that Knowles’s kid was pleased with him. The medical and physio teams gave Knowles the all-clear to dance, the BBC reported on Friday.
Vocalist Shayne Ward and Nancy Xu kicked off the evening with a cha cha score of 30, while Miranda star Sarah Hadland and Vito Coppola received a score of 27 for their foxtrot to Billie Eilish’s Birds of a Feather.
