According to a statement released on Sunday by Force Spokesperson Muyiwa Adejobi, the arrests took place at a location in the Next Cash and Carry area of Jahi in the Federal Capital Territory.

Adejobi indicated that the suspects were allegedly utilizing computers and advanced technology to carry out their criminal activities. He detailed, “The Nigeria Police Force has taken into custody 130 suspects, consisting of 113 foreign nationals—primarily from China and Malaysia—and 17 Nigerians (4 males and 13 females) for their roles in high-level cybercrimes and hacking, which pose risks to national security.”

This operation was executed during a coordinated raid on November 3, 2024, led by Assistant Inspector-General of Police for Zone 7, AIG Benneth Igweh, with the involvement of officers from the Nigeria Police Force Zone 7 Command and the National Cyber Crime Centre (NPF-NCCC).

Adejobi mentioned that the police are currently examining the evidence gathered from the suspects. “We are conducting a thorough investigation and analyzing the items recovered. The suspects will face charges in court once our inquiries are complete. We will keep the public informed about the progress of our investigations as appropriate,” he stated.
