The Delta State Police Command has arrested a man named Amadasu Victor, who admitted to attempting to buy an AK-47 rifle in a bid to lead the notorious cult group known as the Vikings Confraternity.

The arrest was confirmed in a video shared on Tuesday by the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, Edafe Bright, who revealed that Victor was caught negotiating the purchase of the rifle for ₦1.3 million.

Bright stated, “We observed this young man discussing the acquisition of an AK-47 from kidnappers for ₦1.3 million. He claimed he was trying to become the leader of the Vikings Confraternity, and owning at least one AK-47 rifle was part of the requirements.”

In the video of the arrest, Amadasu confessed, saying, “I was arrested because I wanted to buy an AK-47.” When asked why he needed the weapon, he explained, “I was instructed to purchase AK-47s as I aimed to become number one in the Vikings.”

Further details revealed that Victor was apprehended at a hotel while finalizing the arms deal. In his statements, he acknowledged managing a car wash and engaging in internet fraud, commonly referred to as “Yahoo Yahoo.”

“I run a car wash and also participate in internet scams. I trick foreign women into believing I love them, and they send me money. At times, I earn up to ₦8 million, which I share with those who help me,” he said.

When asked about his time in the cult, he mentioned, “I have been involved with the group for six years.” Bright then probed him about his experiences as a cult member, to which Victor expressed regret, saying, “I feel very sad. Now I realize I am actually nothing… there’s no benefit at all.”
