The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) has partnered with global technology company Zoho to help Nigerian micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) adopt digital tools at a lower cost.
Under the new partnership, up to 25,000 eligible MSMEs within the SMEDAN ecosystem will have access to Zoho Wallet Credits worth an aggregate of up to ₦20 billion.
The initiative is designed to help small businesses improve their operations through cloud-based business applications, training, workshops, consultations and technical support.
What Is the SMEDAN-Zoho Programme?
The partnership is aimed at reducing the cost barrier that prevents many Nigerian businesses from adopting digital technology.
Participating businesses will be able to use their Zoho Wallet Credits to access suitable applications from Zoho’s portfolio of more than 60 business applications.
The initiative supports SMEDAN’s GROW Nigerian strategy, which focuses on business formalisation, access to finance and markets, productivity and digital adoption.
What Will Eligible Businesses Get?
The programme provides participating MSMEs with access to Zoho Wallet Credits that can be used for eligible Zoho products.
Some of the available tools include:
- Zoho Workplace — business email and workplace collaboration tools.
- Bigin by Zoho CRM — a customer relationship management platform designed for small businesses.
- Zoho Books — cloud-based accounting software.
- Other applications from Zoho’s portfolio of more than 60 business tools.
The exact products a business uses will depend on its operational needs and the terms of the programme.
Is the ₦20 Billion Given as Cash?
No.
This is an important point for business owners.
The announced ₦20 billion is the aggregate value of Zoho Wallet Credits, not ₦20 billion in cash being distributed to 25,000 businesses.
The credits are intended to help participating businesses access Zoho’s digital products and services.
They should therefore not be confused with a cash grant, business loan or direct payment into beneficiaries’ bank accounts.
Who Can Benefit?
The programme is intended for eligible MSMEs associated with the SMEDAN ecosystem.
The announcement does not state that every Nigerian business automatically qualifies.
SMEDAN and Zoho will jointly handle outreach to eligible businesses and monitor the programme’s adoption and impact.
Business owners should therefore wait for the official registration or participation process from SMEDAN and Zoho rather than paying anyone who claims to have a guaranteed slot.
Training and Business Support
The partnership goes beyond providing software credits.
Participating businesses will also have access to:
- Training sessions
- Practical workshops
- One-on-one business consultations
- Technical support
- Digital skills development
- Assistance with adopting Zoho tools
The aim is to ensure that businesses do not simply receive access to technology but can actually use the tools to improve their day-to-day operations.
How Can Businesses Access the Programme?
The partnership has been announced, but the available announcement does not provide a general public application link for all Nigerian businesses.
SMEDAN and Zoho are expected to carry out outreach to eligible businesses as the programme is implemented.
Business owners should therefore monitor official SMEDAN and Zoho channels for instructions on registration, eligibility and participation.

SMEDAN’s Free CAC Registration Programme
The new Zoho partnership also aligns with SMEDAN’s wider efforts to help Nigerian businesses formalise and become better positioned for business opportunities.
SMEDAN has an ongoing partnership with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) aimed at facilitating the free registration of 250,000 businesses.
Business formalisation can help MSMEs access a wider range of business support programmes and opportunities.
Why the Programme Matters to Nigerian Businesses
Many small businesses still rely heavily on manual processes for accounting, customer management, communication and other daily operations.
Access to cloud-based tools can help businesses organise these activities and improve how they manage their operations.
By combining software access with training and technical support, the SMEDAN-Zoho partnership is designed to make digital adoption more practical for small businesses across Nigeria.
The SMEDAN-Zoho partnership will support up to 25,000 Nigerian MSMEs with Zoho Wallet Credits worth up to ₦20 billion in aggregate.
The support is primarily for access to digital business tools, rather than cash payments.
Eligible businesses can use the credits for suitable Zoho applications while also receiving training, consultations and technical support.
Business owners should follow official SMEDAN and Zoho announcements for the application or participation process and avoid unofficial agents asking for payment to secure access.
