R Kelly Confesses: "I woke up to him touching me"

Buku Abi, the daughter of R. Kelly, has disclosed that she was sexually abused as a young child.

A new documentary about the disgraced musician, featuring “raw and emotional” interviews with Abi, her siblings Jaah Kelly and Robert Kelly Jr., as well as their mother Drea Kelly, who was married to R Kelly from 1996 to 2009, was announced earlier this month.

Abi, whose birth name is Joanne Kelly, will be the star of the film. R Kelly’s Karma: A Daughter’s Journey premiered. Abi claims the singer mistreated her when she was younger.

“He was everything to me.” In the first episode of the two-part series, Abi stated, “I didn’t even want to believe that it happened for a long time,” according to People.

“I had no idea that, despite his ill intentions, he would do something to me. I was too afraid to tell anyone,” the woman continued.

“I was afraid to tell my mother.”In the second episode, she described how, while pretending to sleep, she “woke up to him touching me.” She claimed to have told her mother about it for the first time when she was ten years old, in 2009.

“I genuinely believe that a single millisecond altered every aspect of my life, transformed my identity as a person, and altered the brilliance and brightness I once possessed,” she added.

“My brother Robert and sister Jaah stopped going over there when I told my mother. I stopped going there as well.”

Buku added in the video that they went to the police and filed a complaint as “Jane Doe” after eventually telling her mother what had happened, but that “they couldn’t prosecute him because I waited too long.”

I therefore thought that I had spoken something useless at that particular time in my life. Kelly’s lawyer Jennifer Bonjean claimed in a statement to People that Kelly “vehemently denies” the accusations.

“The Illinois Department of Children & Family Services looked into the same allegation made by his ex-wife years ago, and it was found to be unfounded,” stated Bonjean.
