Selena Gomez Tearfully Reacts to Miranda Hart’s Heartfelt Disclosure About Her Health

Miranda Hart recently moved singer Selena Gomez to tears by revealing that the pop star’s public disclosure of her own fight with Lyme illness motivated her to do the same.

Miranda, 51, discussed how Selena’s bold health battle inspired her to divulge her own Lyme disease diagnosis, which she did this week.

The poignant moment occurred when both performers appeared on The Graham Norton Show, which is scheduled to air on Friday, October 11.

Miranda revealed on the show that Selena’s 2022 documentary film, My Mind & Me, gave her the courage to be truthful and speak about her condition in her upcoming memoir, I Haven’t Been Entirely Honest with You.

Selena, 32, has long spoken openly about her issues with mental health and lupus, an inflammatory disease.

Her documentary documented the emotional toll of battling psychosis, which led to her diagnosis of bipolar disorder. Miranda’s statements clearly moved the singer, and the comic credited the pop star’s candour with encouraging her to speak up.

Miranda herself was diagnosed with Lyme disease after apparently suffering from its symptoms for an astonishing three decades.

Miranda stated on the show that she watched Selina’s documentary, which gave her the guts to be vulnerable and convey her views regarding her sickness.

“It kept me writing.” She said of her latest biography, “The book is not just about illness; it is about how I learnt to live well and freely with joy and meaning despite my circumstances.”

I finally feel like I can exist in the world as myself. I feel completely free, if not fully recovered.”
